The “Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority” revealed that the UAE is ranked among the best countries in government digital transformation, to be the only Arab country in this group, in the GovTech Maturity Index, issued by the World Bank 2021.

The “Telecommunications Regulatory Authority” explained in a report issued yesterday, about digital transformation enablers in the UAE 2021: “Towards a 100% digital government”, that the World Bank report divided the countries it included into four groups, topped by Group “A” and included countries that are world leaders in government technology maturity, and included 43 countries, led by the UAE among other countries such as the United States, Canada, Switzerland, United Kingdom, France, and Japan.

The UAE is ranked first in the Arab world and seventh globally in the “Infrastructure Quality Index for the Communications and Information Technology Sector”, within the E-Government Development Index issued by the United Nations, and ranked first in the Arab world and ninth regionally in the World Digital Competitiveness Rankings issued by the “International Institute for Management Development”.

The “Telecommunications Regulatory Authority” revealed that the total number of Emirati digital identity (UAEPASS) registrants, which allows citizens, residents and visitors, to access government services, reached 2.66 million people, while the number of service providers reached 370, providing more than 8,400 services through 170 websites and smart applications, with an average usage rate more than 150 thousand transactions Monthly.

The Authority pointed out that there are more than 103 governmental and private providers of digital signature and digital stamping services within the digital identity (UAEPASS), according to the latest and most accurate technologies.

In its report, the “Telecommunications Regulatory Authority” revealed that the digital wallet within the digital identity (UAEPASS) provides more than 1,108,288 digital documents that benefit more than 1.7 million people, to complete 2.8 million transactions, pointing out that the digital wallet allows individuals to request their official digital documents, and link them to their digital identities. In addition to sharing it with service providers immediately.

The Authority also revealed the presence of 1,322,621 reliable digital documents issued by the digital identity (UAEPASS) verification platform, which enables immediate verification of the source of the reliable digital document, in addition to the credibility, validity and authenticity of the document from the official source.

The authority pointed out that the digital services (UAEPASS) store, which links government institutions and entities with service providers in the private sector that provide technical systems, currently includes more than 169 service providers offering 11 products.

The Authority stated that the Government Services Bus (GSB) is a platform that provides integration between various federal and local government entities in order to exchange information and data among them, and includes 1,400 services with the participation of 151 government agencies, which provided 475 million transactions, and achieved savings of 700 million dirhams for government entities.

The “Telecommunications Regulatory Authority” stressed the importance of the virtual market platform for software interfaces, as it enables the private sector to provide services to citizens and residents smoothly, through the application programming interfaces of the UAE government.
